As you may be aware I had taken over the running of the David Coulthard Museum in Twynholm, Scotland three years ago. Unfortunately due to circumstances I have now had to close the doors on a fantastic piece of history. There has been a letter posted by me on the front page of our website www.dcmuseum.co.uk but a copy of it is below if anyone is interested.
"It is with a very heavy heart that I have to announce the closure of the David Coulthard Museum.
I have found the circumstances just a little too much to take, and as you are all probably aware I have struggled all the way through this but as we all know it is the little thing that finally breaks the camels back and after a lot of heart-searching I have come to the decision to move on with my life and get it into some kind of normal routine again.
It now comes to another very hard job (as if it isn’t all) I have to say thank you to everyone who has helped me in this venture. The list is very, very long and to anyone that I miss please accept my apologies but thanks anyway.
To: Lewis, Kevin, Jackie, Doreen, Simon, Karen, Linda , Alan, all my staff and to all my devoted Twynosi gang who without all your support and help and you all know in your different ways how you have made my life easier, thanks
To: All my customers whether you visited once or made our place a regular visit then without you there would have been no museum or diner so thanks
To: Wee Doug, I love you to bits and your faith in me has kept me going many a time when things got tough, thanks
And a final thanks to all the fans and supporters of David that I have met at races, on our website or at all the different events that the museum has attended then please please keep in touch, I will log into the forum regularly for the next couple of weeks so if you want my private email let me know and I will pm it on to you.
I am quite sure that the website will continue with Kevin, Lewis and Simon in control but I am going to have to disappear for a while just till things settle down but hopefully one day I will be back.
So on that note a final thanks to everyone who has made the last three years of my life so happy and remember that my dream was to get DC back on the map where he belonged and in some ways I think we all managed that."
Love you all
Wendy
