From F1 fanatic blog This is very intersesting
Let's fast forward in time say 10 years and look back on the history of Formula One. Hypothetically IF there is a split of F1 by the teams and a rival championship setup who will history blame for it i wonder.
Would it be Max Mosley and Bernie Ecclestone? Or would the teams take the blame?
OR..... would we find that F1 or whatever the new series would be called would get back to the basics of a championship that the teams and fans want right now?
Maybe future history would show that any split would have been the death of F1 all together.
after reading on Joe Saward's blog a story about a possible split it would seem that anything that Ferrari and other teams who follow suit would have to do to make any new series credible is to have the MONACO's promoter's on board.
I'm sure that if you had the likes of Ferrari,Mclaren along with circuits in USA, Canada, Britain etc.. and MONACO then F1 fans would watch. So where would Bernie be then? Bankrupt probably.

iv been thinkin this myself. but for once he is not at fault. on any other sunday i could give you a hundred things too blame him for... but this time no.
bernie ownes F1 as a brand and as a sport. but it is the FIA who are impossing these new rules, regulations, limitations to finances. bernie has to adheer to the sporting governance from FIA. he has no choice.
now max mosley has forced to much of a change upon F1. budget caps are a good idea. but there is an acceptable cut. the original proposal was $110 million and its now $40 million. These constant changes in regulations are causing a rift between F1 teams and bernie is suffering. the fans are suffering.
FIA are the problem. too many changes to often

Both have enough blame to share but if we really have to blame only one, I would say Bernie..after closing several tracks in the last few years and caring more for money instead of fans ..that, only that should be enough to send this guy to u know where.

For sure Bernie is driven by the need for cash, obviously that has come to the expense of us the fans. You cannot deny the fact that he is a brilliant business man, always seemed to make the right moves even if they are completely selfish. But the teams thnemselves are getting peed off and the FOTA seem to have a clear direction with where they wqant to go. Im sure the next year will be defining in terms of F1's futur.
