I love Monaco.....  I love the tight roads, the twisty bits, the tunnel and the noise of the cars going through it, the harbour and all the huge boats, the buildings so tall with swimming pools on the top.. the tiny start/finish grid...... And I love the fact that at Monaco the fastest car may not win! It's all about driver skill, about not clipping any concrete. So there is a real chance that a number of other teams stand a good chance of winning this race.  What does every one else think? Predictions on who to win? fizzy |

Sadly for me, it tends to be the most boring race of the year. I love all the hype and jazz that goes with it though. At least MS used to try and make it interesting ...... hahahaha. None of that this year.

Monaco always springs a suprise somewhere, we may even see a Force India win! Ok, that may be a little ambitious but wouldn't that be a picture, especially after last year.
Its going to be extremely open this year, but i am still expecting the Brawns and Red Bulls to be leading into Sainte Devote.

I will always love Monte Carlo since it was the very first F1 race I ever saw- 36 years ago! I love the idea that the course is sooo tight that it doesn't take a very big mistake to put you out- unless you are Mark Webber(does he have bad luck at Monaco or what?):-( Any way- I did see a pass- once- on the hill from Ste. Devote to Massenet- 1974 or '75 I believe- Emmerson Fittipaldi passed Jackie Stewat at Beau Rivage on his way to winning the race- and that season's World Championship. But (don't worry), I won't mention a word about Princess Caroline. siiiiigh

Ahhh...Monaco. For years this was the only F1 race aired in the US. We were starved for F1 coverage, but I diverge from this topic.
It's a slow track, but a wizard like Senna made it interesting. If I remember correctly, Mr. Mansell and Mr. Alesi made a very competitive go at it. They had an unforgettable duel at this track.
Mr Schumacher also had some interesting incidents...which I won't elaborate on.
Overall, this track has created some very interesting drama in the past.
I'm looking forward to it.

Yep..there has been many a bit of drama at Monte Carlo over the years. Diva, you be right, we may see a Force India win... after all, Olivier Panis won for Ligier in 96 so nothing is impossible. Is the forecast for wet or dry I wonder? I wonder who will have the "interesting incidents" this year?? fizzy |

Interesting incidents, you have to look at the regulars, Nakajima, Piquest, possibly Kovy.
Nothing can be worse than Karthikeyan in 05, how many times did he 'brush' the barriers during that weekend, or Klein's expensive mistake at the Lowes hairpin in 04. The list could go on actually lol.

still an interesting race both for drivers and spectators.
when drivers come out of the tunnel they are blind for a couple of seconds

Ones that stick out in my mind are MS and the shunt in the tunnel, and JB not stopping coming out of the tunnel, didn't he miss a few races from that. It's also the first race I remember watching with James Hunt driving. I remember my dad saying he was going to be one to watch.
