I'm kinda feeling a bit miffed on the "rules" for F1 these days. First there was the so called "points change" dafty rules. The winner of the WDC would be decided on race wins and not points. Well the FIA broke their own rule on that one for a start by introducing it less that their stated 20 days beore the season started. Crazy! Next there is the diffuser row. Why would not 1 but 3 teams break the rules and risk having their cars d'qed before the season even starts. Well so that row is going to the Court. Possibly a waste of time and money! Then there is Lewis and his "lying" and got binned from 3rd place in Oz. Trulli went off the track under the safety car and still kept his 3rd place. Now there is 1/2 points awarded for Malaysia. That needs to be looked at I think, as a winner is a winner regardless of how many laps were completed. Or if there had been a serious accident and the race was stopped before 75% then 1/2 points would still have been awarded. That, to me is not right. Button won fair and square and all drivers who were in the points should have got full points awarded. Humf! Okies.... rant over..... fizzy

The one of stunted growth told the Daily Express
Bernie Ecclestone has warned McLaren that it may be banned from one or more races as a punishment for lying to race stewards in Australia and Malaysia.
The Woking squad has been summoned to appear before the FIA’s World Motor Sport Council on April 29 to answer charges that it has brought Formula 1 into disrepute, after being found to have deliberately misled stewards about instructions given to Lewis Hamilton during the Australian Grand Prix.
The FIA has indicated that Hamilton himself, who delivered a humiliating public apology at Sepang last Friday, is unlikely to receive further direct punishment beyond his disqualification from the Melbourne race.
But Ecclestone believes the gravity of the offence McLaren is accused of – which he says amounts to fraud – is such that the team could be hit with a heavy sentence.
“We need to investigate closer what went on,” he told the Daily Express.
“There are many options open if the charge sticks and it would be a terrible thing if any team were banned from races.
“But it could happen.”
McLaren was fined $100m by the World Council and excluded from the constructors’ world championship over the ‘spygate’ scandal in 2007, in which it was found to have possessed confidential information belonging to arch-rival Ferrari.
Ecclestone says the WMSC may not be inclined to be lenient to the team this time given recent history.
“It is not so long ago that McLaren were in front of the Council and it is never good for anyone if you are back in court quickly for something similar,” he said.
The FIA has banned teams found guilty of cheating before – notably in 2005 when BAR-Honda was barred from taking part in the Spanish and Monaco Grands Prix for using a secondary fuel tank which when drained brought its car below the minimum weight limit.

If the FIA Ban Mclaren then that is me finished with F1, this witch hunt has gone behond all reasonable degrees with McLaren.
It is a well known fact that MM does not like McLaren and other teams seem to get off scot free where McLaren are made scapegoats every time
The sooner teams leave the FIA and the other two's cluches the better.

I agree that nothing should be done to McLaren, they can't help it if they have 2 liars with in their team. My only question is, surely something should be done to Lewis Hamilton...the "i was told too" line doesn't wash with me, he lied just as Dave Ryan did, Dave Ryan has gone but Hamilton is still there.
blacktulip - my passion for the sport has gone this year, what with the diffusor debate, then all this with McLaren, the 'sport' no longer lights my fire, if i am in i'll watch the grand prix, but i will no longer make sure i'm around to watch a race and i won't be recording them.....might as well wait and read it on the internet once the FIA have decided if the race result is what they want.

Might email Max and ask who will win the British GP this season, then I can put a bet on the winning team and make a fortune.
