I am thinking of switching to OpenOffice for my new computer, has anyone here used it? How good actually is it? And can MS programmes, eg on the computers at work, read files written on OpenOffice?

And can MS programmes, eg on the computers at work, read files written on OpenOffice? i to have been thinking about using open office but can't find anyone that uses it? but I've heard rumors it's the same as ms office and it opens all ms programmes but I'm looking for more info before i chance programmes |

Open Office is very good and I would say on a par with MS Office.
I can confirm that MS Office files can be opened in Open Office and can be saved as MS office compatible files although MS Office does not recognise files saved in Open office file types.
