Although very few serious accidents have happened there, the street circuit does not conform to F1's usual safety requirements yet they are allowed to race without any improvements to the track. Bernie insists Silverstone has to spend millions to carry on racing there, Spa is under threat, yet rich Monaco gets away with it!! So wrong. Bernie get real. And I can't believe Michael Schumacher believes the risk of racing at the Monaco Grand Prix is "justifiable once a year". What's that about??

Despite the tight confines of the circuit around the streets of the Mediterranean principality, safety is taken as seriously there as at every track, with improvements made on a regular basis.
In recent years, impact-absorbing barriers have been adopted at many points along the track.
The walls that used to define the edges of the track at the 150mph swimming pool chicane have been moved back and the corner before the penultimate Rascasse hairpin has been eased.

........And they can't deploy DRS in the tunnel.
However, if it's not safe, why are we racing there and why aren't they making more track improvements. I understand that thankfully no one has lost a life there since the 1960, but there have been some serious accidents. If other curcuits have to make improvements so such Monaco.
