I keep hearing reference to an exhaust advantage Red Bull lost. What was the exhaust doing to be such an edge?

Leon, the rear diffuser was a huge issue last year. Lack of rear down force is causing Ferrari fits this year. Red Bull had the best double diffuser last year, which has been outlawed. So, Red Bull and Ferrari both lost ground because they could not use last year's device.
The Mac guys have apparently come up with a substitute solution. How did they do it?
Without good aero in the rear, the car does not stick to the track as well. So, Ferrari and RB are struggling with rear grip.

Thanks Gizzy. Would that go with all the Mercedes powered cars?
I also wanted to tell you of your avatar that you have for your profile is not showing on my screen.

Yes the Mercedes have it too! The system operates in conjunction with the DRS overtaking aid, which most teams understood to be limited to operation on the rear wing. The DRS - or drag-reduction system - operates the upper flap on the rear wing, lifting it and 'stalling' it. When the DRS flap opens on the Mercedes it reveals a duct, into which the air flows before being directed back through the bodywork of the car and on to the front wing. The system will provide an extra DRS boost, raising straight-line speed still further. Or something like that LOL.

Great drive from Alonso, epic drive from Perez and an absolutely gripping Grand Prix.
