Nothing's confirmed yet, so watch this space. Good that Jenson keeps his job and that Bruno Senna gets to prove himself.

It is hard to say at this point. First the rumors started by saying Carlos Slim will pay the tab for the team to go back, then some were saying the main Brazilian oil (Petrobas) company would jump right away into the project and that Bruno Senna will be one of the drivers and I just read that the media invented all the hype..time will tell if it is true. Actually, I would rather have Danica Patrick driving for Honda or having USF1 to join the circus

How about "Honda saved by Richard Branson" u know...the owner of virgin airlines. I guess BC has been talking to Branson for a while and he might buy the team.

That would be a very interesting prospect as Branson has a very go ahead nature and could be good for the sport

The Daily Telegraph reported last week that an unnamed third party had entered the fray to buy the team, a company described by a Honda source as “reputable, with deep pockets and a brand image known throughout the world”.
The Telegraph and the Reuters news agency have now named Virgin as the mystery bidder, quoting a source close to Honda who stated that Branson’s company has lodged an offer to buy the team.
If confirmed, the bid could trump plans for a management buyout of the team led by chief executive Nick Fry and team principal Ross Brawn, which until now was regarded as the most likely scenario.
Branson has had minor flirtations with F1 in the past, notably when his Virgin Mobile brand sponsored the Jordan team in 2002.

I have just seen that BN would welcome RB with open arms, he is quoted as saying that RB is just the type of investor and team owner that F1 needs.

My own personal thoughts on this are!
Lets hope that this comes off as I would love to see RB get Honda it would be very interesting as RB is a winner

Ananova: . com Branson may rescue Formula One team
Virgin boss Sir Richard Branson has signalled that he might be prepared to step in to rescue the Honda Formula One motor racing team.
The British-based team was put up for sale in December after the parent company in Japan announced it was quitting the sport as both a constructor and engine supplier.
Sir Richard refused to confirm reports that he was already in negotiations with Honda over the purchase of the team.
However, in an interview with BBC Radio 4'S Today programme, he emphasised his enthusiasm for the sport while making clear that it would have to change if Virgin was to become involved.
"I love Formula One. I think that there are faults there that would need to be rectified before we moved into Formula One," he said.
"We would need to be sure that Bernie Ecclestone is running it so that the teams can make ends meet and we would need to be sure that he is on a path to try to turn Formula One a sport that is championing green technology.
"It would be great fun and subject to those two provisos maybe something might be able to get sorted out.
"With the Virgin brand expanding on a global basis, it is certainly something that is attractive."

From ITv f1.com
Bernie Ecclestone has claimed that he approached Honda Racing with an offer to help fund its management buy-out, but was rejected by the team.
The Formula 1 ring-master has previously said that he would do everything he could to keep Honda on the grid after the Japanese manufacturer put its F1 team up for sale.
Now in an interview with the News of the World, Bernie has revealed that he offered a buy a stake in the team for £100 million, but had his bid rejected by bosses Nick Fry and Ross Brawn.
"I tried to help with the management buy-out," Ecclestone said.
They should have taken what I offered.
"It was a very good offer for everybody concerned.
"It gave them complete protection but they wanted to do things on their own."
He hinted that he was frustrated with the lack of progress on securing Honda's future.
"Now all we can do is hope and pray," Bernie said.
"I don't think anybody knows what is going to happen with Honda.
"It is up to them to make up their bloody minds."
Ecclestone believes Honda now has three options, with only the management group and Richard Branson's Virgin company as potential new owners.
"The team can go one of three ways," he said.
"They either go with the management buy-out, sell to Richard Branson or they could simply just close down the whole thing."
He hopes the team survives primarily because Bruno Senna's F1 hopes depend on it, but does not think the loss of Honda itself would be a major issue for F1.
"The silly thing is we have got Bruno wanting to drive," he said.
"It would be fantastic for everybody to have the name Senna back in F1.
"If we lost a McLaren or Ferrari or somebody like BMW, people would wonder what's going on.
"But I don't think that will be the case with Honda. They didn't do too much last year, did they?"

Bernie said "But I don't think that will be the case with Honda. They didn't do too much last year, did they?"
Then why did he want to bail them out, was it for more power or is his remark just sour grapes for turning him down

1)Bernie doesn't do much unless there is a significant financial gain for his empire..so he wanted to stretch his tentacles over Honda and they said no to him, so he got pretty upset, then he said those things which it is an insult to the fans, and to Honda. 2)I also think that by trying to sell or find a sponsor for Honda he would have gotten more influence in FOTA (formula one teams association). They don't have much power but they have unity and that is something BE, in my opinion, doesn't like.

I think that Elcid has hit the nail right on the head too!
Who would want to have the almost a "threat" of the wrath of BE hanging over you, just waiting, poised to say..."well I did give you loadsa cash so you will do as I SAY!"
Well done Honda for turning BE down!

How about this:
Honda's team will be sold to Brawn. The making of the deal was in the final stages on monday evening. The yet unnamed new team's first test will be driven on the 5th of March, either at Silverstone or Snetterton. Honda CEO Takeo Fukui's commentens on monday confirmed that the deal will be made with the former management.
Nick Fry will leave the team and move to work in a completely different sport. Brawn will have the power to shape the team as he sees fit with the money Honda has gotten from the FOM tv and advertising deals.
Brawn will cut down the the team's personel dramatically. From the 770 people (personel at the start of December) to 350. Button will continue at the team but his salary will be cut in half. Button won't be getting any compensations from Honda due to his old contract tangles with Williams.
Brawn will be responsible for coordinating the merging of the Brackley built car and Mercedes engine into a working racing unit

I wondered why Ross Brawn wasn't meantioned earlier, as we all know he has the skills to run a team from top to bottom. It would be great if this did happen, he would manage the team to victory.
